The term "Bridle Path" traditionally refers to a narrow trail or path that is specifically designed for horseback riding. These paths allow riders to follow a clear, secure route through natural landscapes away from the main roadways. In many contexts, a bridle path symbolizes a journey, direction, and connection to both nature and the self, offering an opportunity for reflection and contemplation.
At Bridle Path Counselling, we see the journey toward healing in a similar way - while the path may be clear, it’s not always smooth or easy, and sometimes the terrain can be challenging! In therapy, the path toward healing may have its bumps, twists, and turns. With the right support along the way, growth, clarity, and deeper connection with yourself are possible.
Our counselling services offer a compassionate space where you can explore your emotions, work through life’s challenges, and take steps toward personal growth. Think of it as your own personal path of self-exploration, where you are supported to uncover deeper insights about yourself, heal past wounds, learn helpful coping skills, and develop the strength to handle whatever life throws your way.
We’re here to walk down that path with you at your own pace. Your journey toward healing, self-improvement, and emotional balance is unique, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. Let’s start this journey together.
Madison Cruickshank (she/her), MA, RP, CCC
Hi, I’m Madison!
My path to becoming a psychotherapist began in community mental health and substance use services, where I had the privilege of seeing firsthand the incredible resilience and courage people show when facing life's challenges. It’s been an honor to help individuals tap into those inner strengths and navigate both the joys and difficulties that come their way.
With over a decade of experience, I’ve worked with a wide range of issues, including trauma, substance use, relationship struggles, and mental health concerns. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO, a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the CCPA, and I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. I also have specialized training in various therapeutic techniques, including being an EMDRIA-approved EMDR therapist and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
When I’m not sitting with my clients, I love spending time with my family and friends, enjoying nature, and hanging out with my pets.
I’m here to support you on your journey of self-discovery and healing. Whether you're looking for personal growth, healing from past trauma, or strengthening your relationships, I’ll be with you every step of the way. If you're ready to take the first step toward a healthier mindset, I’d be honored to work with you. Book a session today to begin your journey.
A note for those seeking clinical supervision: Supporting professional growth and engaging in mutual learning with other counselling professionals are areas of great passion. I have completed certification and training for the provision Clinical Supervision and Peer Worker Supervision and have provided supervision to counsellors and other interdisciplinary professionals since 2018. Whether you are seeking specific consultation or ongoing supervision, I look forward to connecting with you!

As an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist, I specialize in helping individuals process and heal from past trauma, stress, or difficult life experiences. EMDR is a gentle, evidence-based therapy that uses bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements) to help rewire the brain, reducing the emotional charge of painful memories and allowing for healthier emotional responses. This approach can be effective in overcoming anxiety, PTSD, and other challenges, helping you move forward with greater peace and resilience.

As a Certified Clinical Trauma Therapist, I specialize in helping individuals navigate and heal from the effects of trauma. I work with clients to understand how past experiences may be impacting their present lives and provide compassionate support through evidence-based therapies. Together, we'll explore strategies to process and release painful memories, build emotional resilience, and foster a sense of safety and empowerment. My goal is to help you regain control, heal deeply, and move forward with a greater sense of peace and well-being.
