Frequently Asked Questions
Why book a complimentary consult?
Building a strong connection in therapy is essential for meaningful progress. It's important to remember that not every therapist is the perfect match for every client. Why not join me for a virtual coffee chat so we can determine if we're a good fit for addressing your specific needs and goals?
Can my sessions be covered by insurance?
The short answer is maybe. Insurance coverage for therapy can vary greatly among providers and plans. It's always a good idea to reach out to your insurance company directly to confirm whether sessions with a Registered Psychotherapist and/or a Canadian Certified Counsellor are covered under your plan. Don't hesitate to contact me if you need any assistance or have any questions at all.
Do you offer direct billing?
At this time, I do not offer direct billing to insurance providers. However, after each session, I will issue a receipt that includes all the necessary details for your insurance provider to process your reimbursement.
For payment, you can either have a credit card on file, and payment will be processed post-session, or, if you prefer, you can make payment via e-transfer prior to the session.
Where is my information stored?
I utilize Jane App, a PIPEDA and PHIPA compliant electronic health record platform for the collection and storage of all client information.
How do I access virtual sessions?
In addition to being an electronic health record, Jane App is also a comprehensive telehealth platform. Sessions will be securely conducted via video directly through Jane App. You will have access via your Jane App account, and through the friendly email reminders in advance of your session.
I live in a different province, can I still access services?
I offer inter-provincial services through my virtual practice. I am able to work with those residing in British Colombia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Newfoundland, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
